Back in Michigan

Before we get completely away from the Florida trip, I’d like to share one movie. It sets the tone for how July 20th went, and gives you an idea of how much Nina likes to jabber these days!

Video
Click here to see and hear Nina making some noise while we cruise the streets of Paradise Island, FL. This movie is 9MB, which makes it amongst the larger videos, sorry.

As I write this, on September 9th, I wanted to also mention on the blog that yesterday, the 8th, was Melissa and I’s 10th anniversary! Woo hoo! I love you, Melissa!

July 26th, safely back in Michigan, the family apparently misses the beach enough to hit the sand in the sandbox! See this image larger.

*Here’s Ian’s hat. He dropped it.* See this image larger.

Alright everybody look and smile at Daddy! See this image larger.

Oooh, nice! Thanks guys! See this image larger.

This one’s a short one, but wait until next entry… we have some gorgeous pictures that we took on the 31st that you will love!

Upgrades!

Hi all! You may have noticed a change in the menu to the right! It now expands and contracts if you click on a year or month. When you first arrive, the previous years will be closed, but the current year will be spread open to show the months within. In turn, the current month will also be spread open to show the titles of all the posts for that month! You can click on any year or month to expand it and any title to go right to that post!

Why would this come in handy? If you’re trying to find an old post, it’ll be easy to find it by title, instead of having to continually hit the “Previous Entries” button at the bottom of the screen, you’ll be able to quickly scan through months at a time, and just click the post title that you are interested in. This will also be good if it has been awhile since you’ve been to the blog, it’ll make it easy to review everything that has been posted this month.

If you experience any issues with this, please let me know!

The little video preview that you see below the archive menu will be for something else, eventually… just ignore it for now, unless you really want to see that contest video again. 😉

Florida Summer 2011, Part XII

The morning of the 23rd, Ian grabs the morning paper. See this image larger.

Melissa and I sighed about how much older he looks. Seems to be happening a lot. It’s ALMOST… like he’s constantly growing. See this image larger.

Grandma Sue got as many hugs in as she could, because we were on our way out of town shortly. See this image larger.

Smiles, everybody! See this image larger.

Best one I could get with Nina in the picture… she didn’t want to be held… See this image larger.

…she wanted to run! See this image larger.

And before we knew it, it was time to go home! Thanks for joining us on our Florida adventure, 2011! I might have ONE video to share from the trip; most of them didn’t tell enough of a story to be included. See this image larger.

Dialogue
When Grandma Sue, Ian and I were at Walmart, talking about Dora the cartoon character –
Me – Do you like Dora, Ian?
Ian – I LOVE Dora.
Me – Would you marry her?
Ian – No, she’s not on the earfth.
Me – Well, where is she from?
Ian – She’s not real life she’s imaginary person on the show, not real life.

Me – Would Nina like this? (toy)
Ian – That would be AWESOME!

When Ian tried a new flavor of ice cream.
Me – Do you like it, what do you think?
Ian – I LOVE it.

Later the adults were laughing about the line above.
Ian – It wasn’t really funniest thing I ever said, it was only a little silly. Like halfway.
