Let’s Just Go

I’m just going to start dumping stuff on here and organize it later. I’ve got audio, video, and a bunch of pictures. Christmas, in all its forms resulted in 1300 images, I’m not kidding! Also, I found some real gems from Thanksgiving on Barb and Aunt Mel’s cameras! (Which normally would result in some confusion as I shuffle entries around, but I haven’t even gotten to the Kunze/Johnson/Chapman Thanksgiving yet, so….) Let’s start with November 20th, and get goin’!

November 20th… I’m not sure why Ian and Nina ended up in weird clothes today, but here ya go! See this image larger.

Remember pictures of Ian in this yoda costume? So long ago! See this image larger.

Nina’s personality really shines, sometimes! This was one of those days! See this image larger.

See those gates? We’ve got less of them now! See this image larger.

One more quick shot! See this image larger.

And then off to the bathtub! See this image larger.

Love those eyelashes! See this image larger.

And the giggle! Especially the giggle! See this image larger.

Pooh bear towel! See this image larger.

You’re our honey! See this image larger.

*Oooooh!* See this image larger.

*GUYS! GUYS! There is TOTALLY a boy-sized frog behind me! TOTALLY! SERIOUS!* See this image larger.

*You know, you never change your spots.* See this image larger.

*I’m TALKIN’ TO YOU!* See this image larger.

Where the wild thing sleeps. See this image larger.

Mommy reads bedtime stories. Nina’s hand on Ian’s shoulder makes the picture. See this image larger.

Nina Talks Up A Storm

Audio, November 14th
Click here to hear Nina trying really hard to tell us something! You may need to turn up your volume considerably, sorry. (I love when she tells me “no,” particularly the second, emphatic “no,” when I guess what she’s saying incorrectly.)

Audio, November 14th
Click here to hear Nina playing with Daddy when she should be sleeping! The volume on this one is a bit better.

Daily Sheet from Daycare, November 20th
Chelsea, Caregiver at Daycare: “Nina had a great day today! For art she colored on a big piece of paper with crayons! Every time I would draw something, she would say “no” and then color over it! She is so silly :-)”

Video, November 19th
Click here to see the kids practicing for the Christmas concert… This is a huge video, but probably worth watching for Nina’s speech in the middle. Warning, Ian hits Nina in this one, so it is rated PG for mild sibling abuse. (At the very end, she wants Mommy to get her crayons, if you’re wondering.) 10.2MB

Dialogue, November 20th
Nina: “One, murmph, go, blassoff! PSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHH”

Thanksgiving 2011, East-Side Chapmans!

On November 19th, we got a visit from Great Grandma Betty, Gramma Marcia, and Grampa Dave because it was time for some ham, buns, and tons of funs! (“Funs” is not really a word.)

Great Grandma Betty checks out a toy catalog with Nina! See this image larger.

Grampa Dave pulled off this self-shot! Nicely done! Nina approved of the technique! See this image larger.

Grampa Dave was asked to watch the horrible “ImagineNext” videos, which nobody will fall for a second time, I can guarantee you. Probably nobody should have to sit through it even once! See this image larger.

*GRAMPA DAVE, LOOKIT!* See this image larger.

There’s some smiles! Ian we’ll work on yours a little. See this image larger.

A bit better, thanks Ian! See this image larger.

Grandma Marcia watches Ian doing something goofy on the iPad. He’s all too happy to show you what he can do on that thing! See this image larger.

We ate some delicious food (thank you Marcia!) and just about the time when everybody said it was a good time to head back, Melissa and I remembered that we wanted Nina to get a little snip-snip. See this image larger.

She immediately looked sooo cute! See this image larger.

But with a little extra time, she just kept looking cuter! See this image larger.

Mommy thought she looked grand! See this image larger.

It was nice to have both Ian and Nina’s first haircuts be from Grandma Marcia! Thank you! See this image larger.

Hi cute kids! See this image larger.

A couple more snips here and there! On a side note, I got to send Gramma Marcia home with some of my cookies! A-ha! The tables have turned! (Marcia was even kind enough to ask me a question about how I did something, which is like Picasso asking an art student how they painted a portrait… I was flattered!) See this image larger.

Almost done! See this image larger.

Voila! Hi cutie! See this image larger.

*Thanks, Grandma!* See this image larger.

An awesome time was had by all! (Did you notice we took down most of the gates? As of today’s date, they’re still MOSTLY down, but a few are in place for obvious reasons… the jury’s still out on whether or not we’ll put back some of them.) See this image larger.

One more picture, and then out the door before it gets too dark out! (It was already way too late to avoid that, but they got home safe! I’d say I’m sorry I kept them, but I’m not 😉 It was great to see them!) See this image larger.

After the grandparents left, Ian and Nina set up the stage for a performance that will be in a video next blog entry, it’ll be a great one, trust me! See this image larger.
