December 15th, and as I mentioned to Ian, Santa and I had worked out a plan where he showed up early, because of all the other things going on in the coming weeks.
Also Santa has elves to build many toys, but there are some things that just aren’t packaged for a trip in the sleigh… thus Daddy’s been given special permission to do some of the assembly. Nina’s toy kitchen is pretty well put together and very cute!
He plays with the firehose more than anything else, really. It has been integrated into all his other toys as something. The Joker gets tied up all the time by Batman with the hose, for example.
It took Nina about 5 minutes to realize that two pot lids make a whole lot of noise. See this image larger.
A couple pretty important notes before we delve into Christmas.
FIRST – you’ll notice a lack of the “see this image larger” option on MANY of the photos going forward. Why do this? More room for more little pictures… there’s so many images that are just there to tell a story, that aren’t necessarily fridge-front-gallery material — no reason to provide those larger. IF YOU FIND THAT THERE’S A PICTURE YOU WANT IN HIGHER RESOLUTION — JUST EMAIL ME, OR WRITE ABOUT IT IN A COMMENT FOLLOWING THAT BLOG ENTRY!
SECOND – I’m going to wait on ALL of the videos until the end of the Christmas run. So you’ll see a bunch of pictures, and then get to re-live the adventure and excitement all over again, in motion. It’ll be great, you’ll see.
Dialogue, December 5th
Ian: “Do you wanna help me? Yeah? No? Or yeah?”
Ian: “Do you know what you need to play spaceship wreck? You need lots of cars and one robot. Well, not a real robot.”
Ian: “Do you know how this flies so well? It’s the secret of the wings. You know what the secret of the wings is? Balloons.”
Dialogue, December 6th Ian:“Momma…… Mommmma?….. Momma! Nina, yell ‘Momma.'” Nina:“MOMMAAAAA!” Mommy:“What?” Ian:“Will you wipe my butt?”
Dialogue, December 8th Nina:“I want applesauce.”
Dialogue, December 12th Ian, regarding a friend at school thinking he did not have a toy:“And he’ll be sad that he doubted me that I had this.”
Dialogue, December 15th Nina, in response to me saying “I love you, Peanut.” “I love tooey”
December 12th, Nina changes Elmo’s diaper! I’ve got a little video of this that I’ll share once we’re through Christmas!
December 13th, and Ernie sits down for a fantastic meal!

Video, December 8th Click here to watch a video of the 2011 Christmas concert, but be warned, it is 14 MB! That could be a long download if you have a slow connection, but enjoy! Of note, at the end of the video, there’s a knock-knock joke that we recently saw on a TV show that really cracked Ian up… it goes
“Knock knock”
“Who’s there?”
“Interrupting cow.”
“Interruptin–”
“MOOOO!”
So that’s what you’re hearing a bit of there.
Here are some pictures to go with the Christmas Concert video… they did pretty good; Ian had rehearsed the songs enough that he probably could have done a bit better, but it is hard not to look like a deer in headlights in front of 200 parents, particularly with the antlers. See this image larger.
Nina at work. They’re wearing socks, see? Just tonight she did this again, but the matching sock had to be rolled up and put on their heads as a hat. See this image larger.
