October, Part III

BONUS VIDEO! October 5th, since Ian was born we have referred to the pink ice cream truck in our neighborhood as simply “the pink truck.” We never told him that it was actually an ice cream truck. This day was supposed to be the big reveal. He had seen ice cream trucks on tv shows like Dora the Explorer, but I wasn’t sure if he’d ever made the connection to the pink truck. He claims that he already knew, and when you watch this you’ll see that it sounds like he already knew OR that he just figured it out at that moment. My theory is that he figured it out precisely here, on film… why, you ask? Simple — if he HAD known before this video, he would have asked for ice cream whenever the truck went by. Every. Single. Time. Now maybe you can guess why we didn’t tell him right off the bat? 😉 Regardless, the smile on his face, seen toward the end of the video, is worth every step I had to run and every cent paid for the frozen confection.
