Nina, regarding her nightlight: “I wannit off actually”

Dialogue, October 13th
Mommy to Nina: “Do you want chocolate cake or vanilla cake on your birthday?”
Nina: “I want fwosting cake.”

Dialogue, October 18th
Ian explains headlights of passing cars: “The shadows when the cars go by, go all the way across the living room and then stop right there.”

Dialogue, October 18th
Ian gets a little sing-songy while explaining something fairly mundane: “I am never going to smell that unless i change my mi-ind!”

Dialogue, October 18th
Ian’s destiny as a poet: “Mommy i know what rhymes with gogurt… Yogurt.”

Dialogue, October 20th
Nina delivers the news: “Ian throwed upped.”

Dialogue, October 20th
Nina to Ian: “Ian you want peanut butter and jelly?”
Daddy interrupts: “No, he doesn’t… he threw up peanut butter and jelly an hour ago.”
Nina, defiant: “Oh. But. He. Dues.”

Dialogue, October 28th
Nina to me, after a hug, as sort of an apology for “decorating” my shirt: “Snot on you.”

Ian asks the big questions: “How can God be out in space and in all our hearts?”

Moment, October 28th
There was a funny moment, when the screen-saver popped up — all of Ian’s old pictures started in a slideshow. Ian stood in front of the monitor, facing Nina and I, and he imitated his own face as the pictures changed. It was a hilarious show!

Nina puts the shoe on the other foot: “How you feelin’ Daddy?”

Milestone, October 30th
Let it be known that on this day, Ian Chapman did, of his own volition, eat homemade macaroni and cheese. The secret to the kids eating a lot of different foods is apparently… celery salt.

NINA DAYCARE NOTES

Daycare Notes, Monday, October 1, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina had a great day. She was very talkative. She loves playing in the dirt with all the farm animals. She also enjoyed our old McDonald story and read it several times with her friends.

Daycare Notes, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: when we are on the playground, Nina said she was going to climb a climber so she could “say hi to the birds.” She pretended some chalk was a frog and she made me come and look at it. Then she said “this is a yellow frog and I don’t know the answer to your question.” (I hadn’t asked one.)

Daycare Notes, Wednesday, October 3, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: mean enjoy painting with corncobs this morning. When I asked her how Gymboree was she said, “it was just fun!” When Nina was going potty she saying “Scooby Doobie Doo where are you? Going poop on the potty.”

Daycare Notes, Thursday, October 4, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: mean had a pretty good day. She is doing better with using her words. She really enjoyed our funny sheet in the Jeep book. She had fun holding Izzie’s hand on a walk and sing a song about mommy and Ian.

Daycare Notes, Friday, October 5, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina loved our movie. When the pig yelled “I can talk!” She got the biggest smile and clapped for the pig it was so cute! We’re working with me on using her utensils at the time she still tries to use her fingers.

Daycare Notes, Monday, October 8, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina had so much fun playing “jump rope” with one of our scarves. She did a great job finding things in our “I spy” game. She found the little green on the top of the pumpkin on the ceiling! Good find!

Daycare Notes, Tuesday, October 9, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina did a very good job sharing the racer when she was coloring with chalk! She pretended to be Izzy’s baby (taking a nap) during free time. Nina played “monster” on the playground with many of her friends today!

Daycare Notes, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina had a wonderful morning. She enjoyed ripping leaves in the sensory tub. She also had so much fun racing with all her friends outside.

Daycare Notes, Thursday, October 11, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina set of her baby into highchair and fed him. Then she “washed” all the dishes she used. He pretended to be a face painter today. Very creative! Nina worked really hard to climb up the ladder today!

Daycare Notes, Friday, October 12, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina had a lot of fun exploring the acorns. After a little while she was doing a great job waiting down and understanding the concept of heavy and light.

Daycare Notes, Monday, October 15, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: needed a great job walking on the balance beam. She also had a lot of fun exploring and rolling our class pumpkin.

Daycare Notes, Tuesday, October 16, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina spent the morning “mowing” at her friends! She was in a super silly mood this morning. You may enjoy playing memory with a teacher! She couldn’t wait for tumble-time!

Daycare Notes, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 Nina’s caregiver:
Was so excited to paint a pumpkin with watercolors! She really enjoyed playing with pumpkin seeds she got to feel how slippery they are. She told us “we have to cook it up.”

Daycare Notes, Thursday, October 18, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: had a lot of fun playing, with the test tube shakers. She loves talking about things we can do with a pumpkin but didn’t want to taste her pumpkin pie.

Daycare Notes, Friday, October 19, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina loved riding on the bike in the indoor playspace. She also had fun singing ABCs in the tent. When she played parachute games she had the biggest smile! It was adorable.

Daycare Notes, Monday, October 22, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina loved looking for bugs in our movie this morning! She was so cute-clapping at happy parts. She sang “twinkle twinkle” at the top of her lungs when she rode her bike.

Daycare Notes, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina did an excellent job putting the pumpkins eyes nose and mouth in the right place! She also had so much fun painting gourds with water.

Daycare Notes, Thursday, October 25, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina enjoyed playing with the “five Little monkeys” on the flannel board. We had so much fun racing with her friends on the playground! She also enjoyed playing in the car area! Nina was a great helper today!

Daycare Notes, Friday, October 26, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina was an excellent helper a cleanup time today! During circle time we read a story. The Nina explained it to all of her friends. She loved playing hollowing bingo! She worked hard to climbing the ladder today.

Daycare Notes, Monday, October 29, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina saying while she played with dinosaurs” roared” this morning. She enjoyed playing in the sandbox, building a “cake” then she built one out of Legos and saying “happy birthday” to miss Jillian.

Daycare Notes, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 Nina’s caregiver: Nina worked really hard at peeling stickers to put on her trick or treat bag. She had so much fun playing in our home a tent! Nina was excited to ride a bike during our large motor time.
